The short version
- Residents of Pakistan can own and direct a UK limited company — no UK visa, residency or British partner is required.
- The whole process is online: name check, identity verification, filing and documents.
- Non-residents need a UK registered office, so choose the Privacy & Address Launch: £229 first year, then £159/yr, with annual Confirmation Statement filing included in renewal. Year one includes the London address, privacy protection and the £100 Companies House fee.
- A UK company makes it easier to apply to UK and EU payment providers, but approval is always decided by the provider.
Why founders in Pakistan choose a UK company
We speak every week with founders from Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi working in software exports, IT freelancing, digital agencies, Amazon FBA and Shopify stores. The reason is almost always the same: buyers in Europe and the US expect to pay a company with a recognised address and registration, and several global payment and marketplace platforms do not onboard businesses registered in Pakistan. A UK limited company is a well-known, inexpensive and fully transparent structure that solves the first problem and opens the door to the second.
- Public, verifiable registration on the Companies House register within about a day.
- Invoices in GBP, EUR or USD from a UK entity that international clients recognise.
- Eligibility to apply to UK-based e-money and payment providers.
- Limited liability — the company's debts are separate from your personal assets.
What you need
Identity document
A valid international passport only. National ID cards such as the CNIC or NICOP are not accepted for non-resident identity verification through an ACSP.
Proof of residential address
A recent utility bill, bank statement or official letter. If it is not in English we review it ourselves as a licensed accountancy practice — a certified translation is only requested when something cannot be read.
A company name
Check it on our homepage before you start; the checker compares against the live Companies House register.
A UK registered office
Every UK company needs a UK address. Our Privacy & Address Launch provides one and keeps your home address off the public record.
The process step by step
1. Check your name
Instant result: available, taken, or needs extra approval.
2. Complete the online application
Directors, shareholders and people with significant control, in about 10 minutes.
3. Verify your identity
Passport upload and a short liveness check from your phone. We are a registered ACSP, so this happens inside our wizard.
4. We file with Companies House
Typically processed within 24 hours once your verification is complete.
5. Receive your documents
Certificate of incorporation, articles, share certificate and your company number by email.
Payment platforms and banking: what to expect honestly
A UK company lets you apply to providers such as Wise Business, Revolut Business, Stripe and PayPal as a UK business. Each provider runs its own checks on the directors and owners, including their nationality and country of residence, and can refuse or limit an account. Nobody — including us — can guarantee an approval, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
Our practical advice
Apply with a clear website, a real business description and invoices or contracts that show genuine trade. Clean, consistent documents are the single biggest factor in a smooth approval. See our guide to UK business bank accounts for non-residents for more detail.
Tax: the point to check in Pakistan
A UK company pays UK corporation tax on its profits and must file annual accounts and a confirmation statement. However, a company managed and controlled from Pakistan may also be treated as tax-resident there under local rules or a double tax treaty. Before trading, take advice from a local tax adviser in Pakistan about where the company will be taxed and how you will pay yourself. Our Scale Compliance plan covers the UK side.
Support in your language
Our assistant Reggy answers in English, with our office team available on WhatsApp, and our office team responds on WhatsApp. You are dealing with Kaplan Accountancy Ltd, a UK accountancy practice, not an anonymous reseller.
Common questions
Do I need to travel to the UK from Pakistan?
No. Everything, including identity verification, is completed online.
How much does it cost?
For non-residents, the Privacy & Address Launch is £229 first year, then £159/yr, with annual Confirmation Statement filing included in renewal. Year one includes a London registered office, privacy protection, ACSP identity verification and the £100 Companies House fee.
Will I definitely get a Stripe or Wise account?
No provider approval can be guaranteed. A UK company makes you eligible to apply; the provider makes the decision.
I work on Upwork or Fiverr — can I invoice through a UK company?
Yes, many freelancers invoice clients through a UK limited company. The platform runs its own checks, and you should confirm with a Pakistani tax adviser how income paid to the UK company is treated at home.
